A Story of Rescue and Redemption
Snow is a 3-year-old miniature horse gelding with a story that reminds us why Ark of Grace Sanctuary exists. In 2021, Snow came to us after narrowly escaping slaughter. His previous owners deemed him “useless” due to his conformation—specifically, a condition called cow-hocked hind legs, where the hocks turn inward and the hooves point outward.
Because of this, Snow moves differently from most horses. His hind end is weaker, placing extra strain on his back and making movement less fluid. When he walks, trots, or canters, his feet swing inward—a gait that’s unique to him, but no less worthy of love.
With the careful support of our veterinarian and farrier, Snow is living a comfortable and joy-filled life. He may not move like the others, but here, he doesn’t have to. At Ark of Grace, Snow has found what every animal deserves: safety, care, and a forever home.
He is a living testament to the value of every life, just as God sees us, not for what the world deems “useful,” but for who we are.
