Ark of Grace Animal Sanctuary

Ark of Grace is dedicated to providing a sanctuary for animals in need. We pride ourselves on creating a peaceful environment that fosters the well-being of all living beings. Our sanctuary is well-staffed with trained professionals who are experienced in animal behavior, nutrition and medical care. We offer exceptional care, custom-tailored to the individual needs of each animal, to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.

ANIMAL BIOS

Currently we house 72 animals that call the sanctuary home.

Let's meet some of the animals:

Charlotte

Charlotte is a hackney breed of horse who was rescued from the amish after being neglected and sent to auction. She has had at least 2 foals in the past. She came with a knee injury that limits her mobility and requires daily pain management supplements. She has been happy and healthy since being under our care.

Grace

Grace is a painted quarter horse mare.
She formed a bond with Charlotte prior to
moving to our facility. She has lameness
and mobility restrictions as well.

Blossom

Mini Mare, that was rescued from the Amish.

Gideon

Mini gelding, that was rescued from the Amish.

Snow

Mini gelding, that was rescued from the amish.

Prince

31 year young , gelding Quarter horse that was an owner surrender. Prince is enjoying the new friends he has made.

Noble

Hello! My name is Noble, I'm a big potbelly
pig and not to brag but I do kind of run
things around here. I walk the property
every day and make sure everything is in
order. I love snacks, belly scratches and
my favorite hobby is gardening. I
specialize in rooting up pesky grasses and
weeds and leave perfect dirt patches
behind.

Dutchess

Dutchess is a mini potbelly pig. She is
bonded with Wally and spends her
evenings inside the aviary. Duchess can
be seen taking naps under her hay and
rooting around the yard.

Archie

Archie is a ram that came to the
sanctuary in 2020 after he was
abandoned at birth. He underwent a
perineal urethrostomy surgery and has
been happy and heathy ever since.

Wally

Wally is a male African Grey parrot. He
likes to mimic everyone's speech and play
with foraging materials. Every night, he will
eat dinner with Dutches before getting
tucked into bed.

Josie

Josie is a female Goffins cockatoo. She
came from a hoarding situation where
she was unfairly treated and living in poor
conditions. Josie loves to dance and sing
while flying around our aviary. Her
personality and attitude has greatly
improved since coming to the sanctuary.

Norbert

Norbert is an Amazon parrot who came
to us from Pennslyvania. He really
enjoys music and his favorite snacks
are senior Nutriberries.

Molly

Molly is a female African grey parrot. She
came to the sanctuary in August 2022
after her owner passed away. She loves
people and really enjoys singing/ whistling
with us. Molly is very personable and
affectionate. In this photo, she is enjoying
one of her favorite snacks, which is a pear
slice

Mordecai

2 year old Quaker parrot, that was surrendered to the sanctuary. Mordy is very vocal and friendly.

Chester

12 year young , domestic male cat. Chester has diabetes and requires daily medications. He was an owner surrender to the sanctuary, Chester is very happy and healthy, since being under our care.

Sadie

At 13 years young Sadie is a total diva. She was rescued from the ASPCA some years ago.

Bixby

A stray that was found by one of our animal staff. He had no mom and was left all alone. Bixby enjoys sunbathing with his now brothers!

Boots

Adopted from one of our local shelters, as a " hard to home" cat. Boots has blossomed since being at the Ark. Overcoming some health issues and is completely healthy now.

Bruce

camera shy, Bruce was a feral cat that Amanda took the time to rehab. Bruce enjoys his feline family that share the sanctuary with him.

Esther

Female short hair cat

Hannah

Hannah came to Ark of Grace in fall
2022 with Mr Pete and Hero. She enjoys
snacking on blueberries and following
the staff around the farm. Hannah's
age is unknown.

Mr Pete

Mr Pete came to Ark of Grace in fall 2022
from a home that could no longer take
care of him. He enjoys snacking on
blueberries and fanning out his beautiful
plumage.

Hero

Hero came to Ark of Grace with Mr. Pete
and Hannah. Hero's age is unknown.

Shalom

Male Mallard- unreleasable

Shalom is a mallard duck who was
rescued after he suffered a broken collar
bone. He can no longer fly appropriately
and does well in captivity. He swims in the
pond everyday and enjoys the company
of our other fowl.

Chicken Flock

We're the chickens! Nice to meet you! Ourflock is one big happy family and we lovesunbathing, scratching around for snacksand singing our favorite songs ALL DAYLONG. If you ever need eggs you can giveus a call!! Ark of Grace flock has 5 roostersand 11 hens.
