In January 2024, The Ark started off the new year by rescuing a 10 year old feline, Reeses, with Stage 2 mammary cancer. She developed a tumor on her mammary chain that was likely caused by not being spayed and still having her reproductive hormones. Unfortunately, 80-90% of these tumors are cancerous. Fortunately, Reeses only has a singular nodule on her abdomen, which will be closely monitored for changes in size or shape. Ark of Grace is happy to provide Reeses with hospice care. We will be working closely with our local veterinarian to develop a treatment plan for her that will include a spay and lumpectomy. Please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts and prayers!
